Started our hike to Indian Point from this trailhead. It was easily accessible and slightly off the highway unlike some gorge hikes so tends to be a bit less crowded. One bathroom.
Herman Creek Trailhead is a great option for those wanting to hike in the Gorge without driving too far away from Portland. Because the trailhead isn't located directly off the highway like a lot of the ones in the gorge, this one is not as likely to fill up. There is one restroom. There are also a ton of hills and great views.
So glad we didn't have our trailer attached! The road up is very narrow and neglected. Lots of Tree limbs down [not on the road though]. Once we were at top, we didn't see trailer spots [sign at bottom of road stated a 20 ft limit on trailer size]. This campground is not tended to.
Your average trailhead, complete with very sticky bathroom.
