Up high above the highway. The river nearby is fun to swim in. There was some great logs to sit on at the campsites. The history of this campground is interesting. I'd love to camp here again and try more of the hikes and explore the area better.
We book our Family Reunion here every year!! It's beautiful, peaceful with historic buildings. Always many things to do, hiking, fish hatchery tours, swimming, floating or fishing to name just a few.
Sweet place to camp or just spend the day! Hopefully they extend the maximum punishment to all those involved in starting the fire that more than likely destroyed this beautiful Campground and Hiking area.
(Later I learned that it had been a very stormy winter, which left a lot of debris. Several crew had worked very hard to clear it as much as it was when I stayed there. )
For the money they charge me and my bike to Camp (same as a car), it seems that it was not being cared for sufficiently: i.e. restrooms out of order, porta potties overflowing, the only garbage was at the bottom of the hill (a 1/2 mile away from our campsite), bramble and branches intruding on the camping space that need some maintenance, and no showers.
Kat is an excellent host. Thank you for the hospitality, the hiking recommendations, and for helping to make our experience a memorable one.
This is a beautiful place that's perfect for day hikes. It has some camping spots, but no proper Hiker-Biker camping spaces.
Great views of the Colombia Gorge, Eagle Creek, waterfalls, fish hatchery, and all the comforts of town within a short drive or walking distance.
Overall, I would recommend it for its serenity and beautiful greenery, and it was a very good place to rest before continuing my ride along the old scenic Columbia Highway Route.
